Delete Your Account and Data
Last updated: September 7, 2026
This page explains how to delete your ScopeToBuild account and the data associated with it. It applies to the ScopeToBuild mobile app (com.scopetobuild.app) and to the ScopeToBuild web app.
How to request deletion
There are two routes. Either one starts the same process.
- In the app. Open Profile → Delete account, and confirm. This is available in both the mobile app and the web app, and it does not require contacting us.
- By email. Write to info@scopetobuild.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. Use this route if you can no longer sign in.
How long it takes
Your sign-in sessions end immediately when the request is made — on every device you were signed in on. The account is then scheduled for deletion after a 7-day grace period.
The grace period is there so that a deletion made in error, or by someone who briefly had access to your device, can be undone. You can cancel at any point within those 7 days by signing in again and choosing to cancel the deletion. After 7 days the deletion runs and cannot be reversed.
What is deleted
- Your personal details — name, email address, phone number and postal address — are erased from your account record.
- Your credentials and sign-in artifacts, including passwords, refresh tokens and any biometric sign-in you had enabled, are deleted outright.
- Email addresses embedded in signature and approval requests that you sent are scrubbed.
- If you are the sole owner of a company workspace and it has no other members and no pending invitations, that workspace and its entire database are deleted with your account — including its projects, estimates, orders, documents, photos, floor plans and room scans.
What is retained, and why
If you are a member of a company workspace that belongs to someone else, that workspace is not affected by your deletion. The work records you took part in — projects, estimates, orders, comments, uploaded documents and photos — belong to that company and remain with it. Your authorship of them is anonymised: your account record is kept as an empty tombstone so those references resolve to “Deleted User” rather than breaking, and it no longer contains anything that identifies you.
If you own a workspace that still has other members or outstanding invitations, we cannot delete your account until ownership is handed over to someone else. The app will tell you this when you try, and name the workspaces concerned. This is deliberate: deleting an owner would otherwise take a working company down with them.
We may also retain records where the law requires it, such as financial and tax records, for as long as the applicable retention period demands.
Analytics and session recordings
We use a third-party analytics service, PostHog, which stores data in the United States. It receives diagnostic reports, product events such as which screens were opened, and recordings of app screens. Text on those recordings is not blanked out, so they can show information you or your colleagues entered, including information about your clients.
Deleting your account also deletes this analytics data. When your deletion runs at the end of the 7-day grace period, we automatically ask PostHog to erase the events, the person record and the session recordings associated with your account. You do not need to ask for this separately.
This part can take up to a week longer than the rest. PostHog deletes in scheduled batches rather than immediately, so there is a delay between our request and the data actually being erased — usually a few days, and up to about a week. We would rather tell you that than call it done when it is only requested. We check back until PostHog confirms the erasure has actually run.
You can also request this on its own, without deleting your account. Email info@scopetobuild.com from the address on the account and mention analytics specifically. We will erase the analytics records held against your account, including any session recordings, and write back to confirm once the deletion has actually completed — not when we requested it.
If something goes wrong
If a deletion does not complete, or you are unsure whether it did, write to info@scopetobuild.com and we will check and confirm in writing.
